Torin

The second Pot Still release from an Fear Grinn and what an interesting whiskey it is. No wonder really as I used 3 different casks to get this one done. Firstly maturing in a bourbon before transferring for just the correct time into a peat cask and finally finishing things off with a virgin oak.
You will need to take your time over this one as many elements are present.
As usual, hand filled, labelled and hand written individual number. Actually this Limited Edition yielded 250 bottles only. Triple distilled and non-chill filtered. ABV of 57.7% (NOT 56% as misprinted on label!!) Correct it for yourself please! (see below).

NOSE..
Sweet and warming notes of apple/pear and lemon balm, with undertones of toffee and delicate funky wood.
Taste
Rich and interesting layers of spice and almonds, followed with complex layers of wood, spice and fruit rounded with caramel smoothness.
Finish
Slowly fading fruits making way for crisp and rich wood notes with a hint of piquant spice.
